Scientific Drilling is accepting online applications for the position of SAGD Technical Sales Team Member located in Calgary, Canada. 

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

The Development of the SAGD directional drilling segment, through

  • Understanding the SAGD market from a client perspective, including segmentation and future directions.
  • Identification of key customers and establishment of relationships as appropriate
  • Understanding of the SAGD market from the provider perspective, including competitor positions, strategies, and directions.
  • Input to Scientific Drilling International's strategic direction, working closely with Marketing.
  • Active management of the portfolio of SAGD-specific products and their reflection in internal and external catalogs.
  • Introduction of new technology consistent with the above position.
  • Proper knowledge management principles by submitting operational "Best Practices" and "Lessons Learned" for all new technology being introduced.
  • Contribution to marketing communications, including advertisements, Oilfield Bulletins, brochures, web based content, trade magazine articles, professional papers, etc.

Experience/Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of eight years of Oilfield Services seniority, including experience in directional drilling operations, tenure in a position as MWD and/or DD Coordinator, Technical Manager (or equivalent), or Technology Expert.
  • Considerable first-hand experience with SAGD directional drilling operations.
  • Experience as Sales Representative of oilfield services.
  • Access to SAGD operators though previous experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SAP system a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Should exhibit proven problem solving, communication, organizational and leadership skills.
  • Computer literacy to ensure efficient communication and maintenance of accounts; experience with customer relationship management (CRM) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to incorporate technical expertise and industry understanding to execute major components of the strategy
  • Strong focus on customer needs, with an ability to deal effectively with customers at various levels, including field operations, area supervisors, maintenance personnel and senior management
  • Strong consultative selling skills, with an ability to comfortably and confidently write and deliver presentations
