Scientific Drilling is looking for an Engineering Coordinator to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Nestled between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the California Central Coast is the location described as the happiest place on earth.  Home to where others vacation, including 200+ wineries, fresh air, miles of beautiful beaches, and small town appeal. Our Engineering Coordinator position will be working in our Engineering department.

This position performs Engineering and Manufacturing-related duties on a professional level and works closely with Design Engineers, Functional Managers, Project Managers and Plant staff. This position interfaces with Planning, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Logistics to transition engineering prototypes from concept to field testing. Documentation management and coordination of project-related activities is also expected.

 Key Job Functions:

  • Manage Engineering drawings and Bills of Materials for prototype and pilot assemblies
  • Generate Engineering Purchase Requisitions as directed and submit to Supply Chain for purchase
  • Create, submit, support and track Engineering work orders with Planning and Manufacturing staff
  • Participate in daily and weekly, formal and informal meetings with engineers, project managers, planners and manufacturing personnel
  • Schedule outside services and support Engineering lab operations as needed
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with part numbering, BOM, requisition and logistics systems
  • Some exposure to Engineering or technical concepts
  • MS Office Word, Power Point, and Excel proficiency

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP, Infor or other database software
