Scientific Drilling is looking for a Drill Motor Manufacturing Coordinator to be responsible for our drill motor operations based in Edmonton Canada.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 


  • Serve as the focal contact point for SDI Canadian drill motor operations
  • Be able to disassemble motors with no supervision
  • Be able to assemble motors with no supervision
  • Must be able identify all motor parts by name
  • Be able to learn SDI's part number schema
  • Be able to fill out Technician part of the drill motor QC paperwork with no supervision
  • Be able to perform final QA/QC checks for outgoing drill motors
  • Be able to learn SDI's software based asset tracking system
  • Responsible for coordinating all suspected drill motors incidents with SDI Reliability Team
  • Be able to coordinate logistics between SDI drill rig operations and SDI supply chain to deliver drill motors in a timely fashion
  • Responsible to actively improve our quality performance and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) by: not passing a defect or nonconformance downstream and fully understanding, diligently following and executing documented procedures to meet our quality objectives

Education & Requirements

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous motor experience a plus
  • Previous experience with SAP a plus

Location, Physical Requirements & PPE

  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and objects.  May work near radiant and electrical energy. 
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include, but are not limited to, computers, calculators, copiers/fax. Must have the ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
