Scientific Drilling is looking for a Pulser Service Supervisor to work at our Midland, Texas facility.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisor(s) who supervise employee(s); is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Also directly supervises non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate Pulser Technicians for service of tools with latest training, techniques and hardware.
  • Organize service center for efficient work flow to facilitate rapid turnaround by utilizing LEAN techniques and methodologies
  • Test and troubleshoot any/all functioning issues on tools received from operations Disassemble, clean and inspect tool components for wear and/or damage
  • Assemble, function test and ready tools for deployment to operations
  • Able to use solenoid test system to qualify tools for deployment
  • Fill out all required forms, records and documents used in the manufacture/service of Scientific Drilling Mudpulse Pulsers

Education, Experience, Certification and Training:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Experienced in using mechanical tools and equipment.
  • Previous work experience in oil field tool maintenance desired.

Work Environment, Physical Job Requirements and PPE:

  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include are but not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, telephone, and automobile.
  • Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, FRC coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
