Scientific Drilling International is accepting online applications for the position of HSE Coordinator in Charleroi, PA.


Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) activities in all assigned areas of responsibility
  • Supports implementation and sustainability of Scientific Drilling's HSE Management System
  • Assures Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance with local laws, company policies, and client requirements
  • Performs formal hazard assessments for all jobs, tasks, facilities, and worksites in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Leads by example and encourages a culture of safety at all times
  • Conducts HSE audits, inspections, and assessments in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Leads incident investigations, root cause analysis, and the corrective action process
  • Analyzes HSE statistical data and produces required reports
  • Conducts required safety meetings/orientations for all personnel in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Assures driver compliance with all applicable Department of Transportation requirements
  • Schedules, coordinates, and conducts required HSE training for all personnel in assigned areas of responsibility
  • Manages the corporate safety recognition program at the Applied Technology Center
  • Performs general HSE administrative duties (as needed)
  • Performs other applicable duties assigned by the Sustaining Engineering Manager and SDI's Director of HSE

Essential Skills and Duties:

  •       Working knowledge of OSHA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001
  •       Ability to work safely within the requirements of Scientific Drilling's HSE Management System
  •       Reliable self-starter who is able to prioritize workload and efficiently manage their time with minimal oversight
  •       Ability to professionally represent the HSE department with internal and external stakeholders
  •       Working knowledge of safety, environmental, and quality management systems
  •       Able to meet strict deadline requirements and work under pressure
  •       Detail-oriented, consistent, and accurate
  •       Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills (required to speak to large groups)
  •       Ability to problem solve
  •       Excellent organizational skills
  •       Ability to collaborate with others and be part of an effective team
  •       High level of proficiency with Windows Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio
  •       Experience as an instructor for training purposes

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  •      Working knowledge of API Q1,EPA, ANSI, ISNet World, PEC, and DOT regulations
  •      Bilingual in Spanish
  •       Basic understanding of manufacturing processes

Degrees and Certifications

  • College degree preferred
  • 3 years in the oil and gas industry preferred
  • Professional certifications (e.g. Nebosh, CSHO, etc.)
  • Previous SAP experience is required

Relocation costs will be considered for the position.
