Scientific Drilling is looking for an Repair Technician to work at our Motor Shop in Yukon, Oklahoma.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, service and repairs to hydraulic break-out units, support equipment, overhead cranes forklifts and other equipment used to maintain mud motors.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
  • Assemble, install, or repair machinery and support equipment.
  • Perform scheduled forklift and overhead crane safety inspections.
  • Read plans, instructions, or specifications to determine work activities.
  • Schedule PM and service repairs for material handling equipment.
  • Schedule annual crane inspections and break-out unit calibrations.
  • Ability to safely operate a company owned vehicle.
  • Coordinate with local crane and forklift vendors to schedule needed repairs.
  • Understand safety procedures for all areas of the facilities and ensure that departmental procedures and safety measures are followed.
  • Identify and recommend improvements in maintenance procedures and safety measures.  
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to safety standards with Company HSE policies.
  • Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination.
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

Education, Experience, Certification and Training

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of fork lift and crane operations.
  • General knowledge and skill in mechanical and hydraulic systems repair and maintenance.
  • An acceptable driving record and state issued driver license.
