Scientific Drilling is looking for Motor Facility Quality Control Technicians to work at our Yukon, Oklahoma Facility.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 


  • Inspect materials and products for conformance to company specifications and categorizes accordingly. 
  • Examine material or product for defects and complete third party repair forms.
  • Prepare product for inspection and if necessary, works with the inspector to determine the solution of problem.
  • Knowledgeable of and adheres to company Quality Management System.
  • Operate diagnostic equipment needed to perform job duties.
  • Responsible for final checks on products to verify compliance to requirements.
  • Collect inspection reports from inspectors, attach to completed Disassembly paperwork and give to Oasis Motor Coordinator for processing.
  • Fill out Machine Shop Repair forms and place parts in Machine Shop Outgoing Area
  • Work with Motor Facility Inventory Control to verify serial numbers on Motors, Rotors, Stators and serialized parts
  • Works with the Inspection Company to determine if damaged parts are reworkable or scrap
  • Works with Motor Facility Inventory Control to coordinate rotors and stators for reline or rechrome
  • Coordinates with Inventory and Parts Control for ordering parts for inventory, performing inventory count, machine shop parts priority, shipping and receiving Rotors and Stators.
  • Fills out the outgoing section of the Motor Request Form and verifies it to the assembled motor.
  • Performs other relevant duties as required.
  • Responsible to actively improve our quality performance and the effectiveness of the Quality Management System (QMS) by: not passing a defect or non-conformance downstream and fully understanding, diligently following and executing documented procedures to meet our quality objectives.

Education & Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 2 years' minimum relevant departmental experience preferred.
  • Completion of SDI required HSE and skill level training or equivalent.

Location, Physical Requirements & PPE

  • Conditions may include working inside and/or outside. May work around machines with moving parts and objects.  May work near radiant and electrical energy. 
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include, but are not limited to, computers, calculators, copiers/fax. Must have the ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed shoes, coveralls, gloves, and ear plugs or muffs.
