Scientific Drilling is looking for a Production Planner to work at our Yukon, Oklahoma Facility.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Our Production Planner position will be working in our Drill Motor Operations department and it will be an integral part of the Planning team in our fast-paced Yukon, Oklahoma facility. Coordinating with the supply chain, engineering and production teams in this dynamic role. You will be well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. With MRP know-how and proven production/planning experience, you will ensure smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. Organized and results-driven you will be applying great problem-solving skills in to meet demands and maintain schedules.


Key Job Functions:

  • Work with product line representatives and key stakeholders to develop forecasting and mid-range planning strategies. Applying these forecasts and strategies through the MRP system to ensure timely delivery schedules and meet customer requirements.
  • Develop and implement planned production schedules across multiple product lines and through various production phases, highlighting and resolving shortages and potential resource constraints. Planning and prioritizing operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Liaise with engineering groups to support multiple pilot/proto-type builds within the production environment. Monitoring special projects and offering flexibility to meet specific timelines and needs.
  • Review schedules to determine materials and parts requirements, ensuring materials are available according to schedule. Addressing issues, and when needed taking expediting action to minimize disruption.
  • Be a MRP system champion; monitoring and maintaining a healthy MRP environment. Ensuring system data quality, date accuracy and material master data are all correct and trustworthy. Skilfully mining system data, analysing and trending multiple key data points. Creating meaningful reports that identify opportunities to improve.
  • Coordinate with department supervisors and managers across supply chain and production groups to determine progress of work and completion dates: Compiling reports on progress of work, highlighting potential delays, scheduling impacts and developing alternative solutions.
  • Maintain controlled release and movement of customer products during repair and maintenance cycles.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 2+ years of business experience
  • 2+ years of Purchasing, Planning, Procurement or related field
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Proficient in MRP systems
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • MRP (SAP, Oracle or other system) experience and knowledge is highly desirable
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment (aerospace, automotive, clean room or electronics manufacturing) is desired
