Scientific Drilling International is looking for a Human Resources Manager to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging service company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Nestled between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the California Central Coast is the location described as the happiest place on earth.  Home to where others vacation, including 200+ wineries, fresh air, miles of beautiful beaches, and small town appeal. Our Human Resources Manager position will be working supporting manufacturing, research and development and our product line divisions.

The Human Resources Manager makes fundamental contributions to the organization's culture, development, recruitment, overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. This role advocates for both the company and the people who work in the company. Consequently, performing a constant balancing act to meet both needs successfully.

Duties:

Manage employee development process including assisting with identification of future leaders, coaching and mentoring programs as appropriate, and facilitation of formal programs and job rotational assignments, with emphasis on Supervisory skills development.

Manage employee relations activities to ensure timely investigation and resolution. Evaluate recurrence or trends across market region and implement actions to mitigate in the future though appropriate training, coaching and discipline as required.

Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.

Supports management on all employee matters including change management initiatives, the recruiting and hiring process, coaching and development, disciplinary action, compensation matters, management of turnover, implementation and delivery of training programs.

Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

 

Develops and rewrites job descriptions as necessary.

Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Maintains familiarity with employment legislation and advises as to effects on the Company and operations. 

Good writing, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Supervision of other employees.

Updating and using relevant knowledge legal requirements and technical knowledge.

Possess the ability to be interactive with all levels of employees within the organization
