Scientific Drilling is looking for Motor Technician Lead-Night Shift to work at our Yukon, Oklahoma Facility.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of a multi-disciplinary team with responsibility for the overall direction, coordination and work assignment for the team.
  • Responsible for fulfilling supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintain the facility in safe and proper working order.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of all company equipment (company vehicles, breakout machines, forklift maintenance).
  • Ensure all company vehicles are road worthy and maintained properly.
  • Maintain knowledge of current equipment specifications and maintenance practices.
  • Ensure that all shop supplies or tools are ordered on time.
  • Coordinate with inspectors to inspect tools before going out to the rig sites.
  • Scheduling, planning and coordinating all motor equipment to ensure delivery to customer in a timely manner.
  • Verifies and keeps records of all inventory in the shop against Oasis.
  • Perform inventory audit as required.
  • Monitor daily usage and the purchase of parts and supplies.
  • Track maintenance costs and charges on a regular basis compared to the budget.
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
  • Maintain all records of maintenance and testing to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Encourage and participate in all SDI Safety related programs.
  • Ensure the Company meets all customer requirements and any changes are communicated immediately.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with vendors and customers.
  • Develop and mentor technician staff; foster team building and performance.
  • Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experienced workers.
  • Adhere to safety standards with Company HSE policies.
  • Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination.
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

Education & Requirements

  • High School Diploma required or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of experience as a Shop Supervisor, Lead Technician or similar role.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience supervising, coaching, mentoring, or managing a team.
  • Experience in interviewing and hiring a plus.
  • Experience in performance appraisal process and reviews a plus.

Location, Physical Requirements & PPE

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, kneel, push, stoop, reach above the shoulder, grasp, pull, bend repeatedly, climb stairs and ladders. Hear with aid, see, perceive depth, write, count, read, speak, analyze, alphabetize, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Conditions include working inside and outside in all types of weather. Working around moving objects, moving vehicles and machines with moving parts. Working around radiant and electrical energy. Working closely with others, working alone, working extended and/or irregular hours. Working environment may include but not limited to excessive or intermittent noise, fumes, smoke, gases, grease, dust, oil and solvents.
  • Equipment (machines, tools, devices) used in performing the essential job function include but are not limited to computer and related equipment, calculator, special instrumentation, forklift, pallet jack, hand tools, power tools, air tools and telephone. Ability to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to, safety glasses, hardhat, reinforced toed boots, welding leathers, gloves and ear plugs or muffs.
