Scientific Drilling is looking for an Administrative Clerk to work at our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA.  Scientific Drilling is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging Service Company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Nestled between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the California Central Coast is the location described as the happiest place on earth.  Home to where others vacation, including 200+ wineries, fresh air, miles of beautiful beaches, and small town appeal. Our Administrative Clerk position will be working in our Administration department.

The Administrative Clerk is expected to perform the essential duties listed below.  Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.


  • Provide a pleasant, courteous, competent, and confidential reception service to ATC.
  • Operate telephone switchboard promptly and in a professional manner.
  • Pass messages to relevant personnel.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail to individual collection trays in Mail Boxes.
  • Organize courier packages as required.
  • Greet visitors to the Company in a professional, friendly, hospitable manner.
  • Issue security passes and keeps a log of all visitors to the premises.
  • Assist with word processing and filing as needed.
  • Organize travel and accommodations when needed.
  • Organize reception area, maintaining it in a tidy and business-like manner.
  • May receive and process information of a confidential nature; ensures such information is maintained in strict confidentiality.
  • Prioritizes and appropriately schedules assignments or tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Effectively use word-processing, database, and spreadsheet software application programs in the course of assigned duties.
  • Perform accounts payable entry daily into SAP.
  • Follow up with managers and employees for signatures, documentation, and/or other clarifications to ensure work is completed in a timely manner.
  • Prioritizes and appropriately schedules assignments or tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Participate in departmental and other meetings.
  • Operate a variety of standard office equipment.
  • Adhere to and improve safety standards.
  • Manage work station and practice good housekeeping techniques.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Pursue every job with drive and determination.
  • Use logic to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business.

 Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of modern office principles, practices, methods, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of proper telephone techniques.
  • Knowledge of proper business letter formats, report writing, record keeping, and filing systems.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 2+ years of clerical/secretarial experience or successful completion of an administrative assistant, office management, or secretarial training program.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Experience putting reports together in Excel preferred.
  • Strong communication skills with good customer service.
