Scientific Drilling International is looking for a Logistics Specialist to work at our Houston, TX location.  Scientific Drilling International is an independent directional drilling and wellbore navigation, surveying and logging service company serving customers worldwide.  Our industry leading navigation systems provide definitive wellbore placement information, enabling safer and more efficient placement of tightly spaced wellbores throughout the world.  We are motivated by crafting innovative and elegant solutions to technically challenging problems. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Organize all shipments in line with company requirements.
  • Ensure the integrity of import/export documentation such as Bills of Lading and GSP certificates.
  • Timely preparation of import documentation and authorization for HMRC for all domestic and international.
  • Prepare and maintain a delivery schedule and communicating to all relevant departments.
  • Accurately verify all freight invoices
  • Keep accurate maintenance of records
  • Work closely with Logistics/Trade Compliance with continual review of shipping dates and reporting exceptions
  • Review the value offered by existing suppliers and ensure purchasing remains globally competitive
  • Assist with the re-negotiating of terms of business/service level agreements and performance evaluation and taking corrective action as required
  • Maintain commercial invoices and packing lists
  • Responsible for ensuring Materials and Equipment deployments align with SDI processes and procedures
  • Completion of accurate Records and Tracking of all Drilling Equipment and Shipping Baskets/Containers
  • Timely updates of Inventory, Materials and Equipment movements on asset tracking database (Infor)
  • Effective Communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery and accuracy of third Party rework
  • Verify all boxes and packing lists for accuracy and communicates discrepancies to Coordinator
  • Prepare and deliver goods and tools to appropriate departments


  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)

Education, Training & Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Some college or community college experience preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience infield or related area
